In December 2019, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) introduced the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), a needs-based, sustainable, and family-centred program. This program provides funding directly to families enrolled in OAP to access therapy services that support their child’s development.

Our company specializes in Speech-Language Therapy, one of the core clinical services covered under OAP, helping children under 18 strengthen their communication skills and independence in daily life.

About Speech-Language Therapy

Speech-Language Therapy is an evidence-based service designed to improve communication in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental needs. Our therapy focuses on strengthening:

  • Overall Communication Competence: Building foundational verbal and nonverbal communication abilities.

  • Social Interaction: Enhancing conversational and social skills for interacting with peers and adults.

  • Functional Independence: Using communication for daily living skills like self-care, following instructions, and managing routines.

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Helping clients choose and learn to use AAC systems.

  • Speech Production: Supporting the production of clearer speech.

  • Fluency: Providing support for stuttering to promote fluent speech.

By improving communication, children gain the skills they need to navigate daily tasks, interact with peers and adults, and develop greater independence.

Our Speech-Language Pathology services are eligible for purchase with OAP Core Clinical Services funding.

How Our Services Work

  • Individualized Therapy: Each child receives a personalized plan tailored to their communication needs and goals.

  • Funding: Families enrolled in OAP receive funding directly and can use it to pay for speech-language therapy services. (Our services may also be accessed through private insurance, other funding sources, or out-of-pocket payments).

  • Professional Delivery: Therapy is provided by a Speech-Language Pathologist who is registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and experienced in pediatric communication.

  • Evidence-Based Approach: Sessions use strategies grounded in research to support meaningful communication progress in a supportive environment.

Who Can Access Our Services

Our speech-language therapy services are available to all children under 18 who are registered with OAP. Children without an ASD diagnosis may also benefit from these services to support their communication and daily living skills.

While a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is required to access the OAP, our speech-language therapy services themselves can benefit children with a wide range of communication needs, with or without an ASD diagnosis.

As a Qualified OAP Service Provider, we are committed to helping families access high-quality, evidence-based speech-language therapy through the Ontario Autism Program.
